Most Americans probably assume that defending our borders is part of the military’s job, and prior to the Obama-Biden era they would have been right, but not anymore.
Up through World War II and into the Cold War America had substantial military assets deployed at or near the border. Just look at the names of border cities and towns: Fort Bliss and Fort Sam Houston in Texas are still active duty military posts. Camp Shannon in New Mexico was built by the U.S. Army for border patrols it was operational from 1917 – 1922 at Hachita, New Mexico. Became a subpost of Camp Furlong in 1920. Camp Furlong was built by the U.S. Army to patrol the Mexican border. Known as Post at Columbus it was attacked by Pancho Villa’s forces in March 1916.
Camp Cochise, Camp Don Luis, Camp San Bernardino Ranch, Camp Douglas, Camp Bisbee and others in Arizona were built by the U.S. Army as border patrol posts and were operational through World War I and the upheaval of the Mexican Revolution. Camp Newell was a temporary border patrol station built during the 1911 Mexican Crisis that became a permanent U.S. Army border post, and Fort Huachuca, Arizona is still an active duty military post and home to the Army Intelligence Center and School.
Indeed, from the Coastal Artillery at Fort Baldwin at Sabino Head on Maine’s Kennebec River to dusty posts in the Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California Southwest, the American border and shoreline are dotted with place names confirming that defending the border at the border was the job of the Army.
The point of this history lesson is that for the vast majority of our country’s history the military didn’t do its work overseas – its number one job was to defend the United States and its borders. It is a fantasy of the Cold War era that all the threats to our national sovereignty can be stopped by strategic bombers and nuclear missiles, as opposed to soldiers on patrol at our borders.
However, the American Army that defended the border with Mexico and fought Pancho Villa just 100-years ago is now surrendering our country to invaders from Mexico, Central America, the Islamist regimes in the Middle East and to battalions of Red Chinese.
After Joe Biden deployed his “woke” troops to the border in the face of the unprecedented surge in illegal border crossing engendered by his public announcement that Trump-era border security measures would be abandoned in favor of simply admitting and “paroling” millions of illegal aliens into the interior of the United States, those troops didn’t do what most Americans expected them to do – which is defend the border.
Instead, they simply opened the gates.
Video, shared on Twitter by Fox LA reporter Bill Melugin, shows a female soldier unlocking a gate in a border fence near Eagle Pass, Texas.
Our friends at Lifezette News shared another Bill Melugin tweet wherein he reported:
I asked the Texas National Guard if this is one of their soldiers who opens the gate for the group of migrants. They tell me she is NOT a TX soldier & is not TX ARNG. I’m told she is a Title 10 soldier from the Missouri ARNG under orders from the federal gov & working w/ BP. pic.twitter.com/zKWy121u1K

Lifezette further reported, the gate in question is part of a border fence believed to have been constructed in Texas along the Rio Grande.
As the soldier steps back, the gate swings open, and a sizable group of migrants starts to enter.
According to information provided by Texas National Guard officials to Melugin, the soldier involved in the incident is a member of the Missouri National Guard, deployed under Title 10 to support Border Patrol agents at the behest of the Biden administration.
Notably, she is not among the Texas National Guard soldiers deployed by Gov. Gregg Abbott as part of Operation Lone Star.
The Republican Chairman of House Armed Services Committee is Representative Mike Rogers of Alabama. The Capitol Switchboard is (202-224-3121) we urge CHQ readers and friends to call Chairman Rogers and their Representative and Senators to demand they hold hearings and identify the name and rank of the soldier who betrayed her oath to defend the United States and to discover if she was acting under color of orders from a superior of if this was an isolated act of betrayal.
